Qiyu “George” Meng (b. 2001, China) is a photographer and printmaker based in Rochester, NY. He utilizes a variety of analog and digital processes to produce photographic prints. His work tackles the idea of home and the sense of belonging. It addresses his experience of being a parachute kid. Ultimately, his intention is to build bridges and to seek truth through poetry. By doing so, he wishes to lead himself and others into a space of discovery through emotions, knowing multiple perspectives, and engagement in visual discourse.

Meng received his BA in Art from Sewanee: The University of the South and is currently pursuing an MFA in Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. He spent most of his childhood and teenage years in China and came to the U.S. alone at 16 to further his studies.
